From October 22 to 25, 2014, the 13th session of the AUPF, themed “Transcultural Challenges for Innovation in Higher Education”, was held by Christian University of Thailand. Delegates from 60 universities in 17 countries and regions participated. As President of Christian University of Thailand noted, the theme of the session not only conveys the transcultural tendency of modern higher education, but also speaks volumes of the trans-discipline tendency which manifests itself in nearly every aspect of higher education. The challenges mainly come from three aspects: technology innovation, medical innovation and social science innovation, which compel us to think big and think anew to really put our work into use for the greater benefit of the society as a whole. Dr. Suyit gave a keynote speech which offers a great deal of inspiring advice to all attendees on how to embrace these challenges and strive for innovation in higher education. Later in the forum, a great many speeches, including “Innovative Trans-culture”, “How to innovate: case studies of top universities in the world”, “Opportunities for Asia”, are warmly received.

During the standing committee conference before the closing ceremony, the host university's great work was highly appreciated. In the meantime, all members of the standing committee showed great support for the student summer camp program and online course program proposed by Dongseo University of Korea. In addition, the committee decided that the 14th session will be held in Guangzhou, China by Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and the 15th session will be held in Tokyo, Japan by Asia University.

The 13rd session of AUPF was a happy gathering for all participating universities where different cultures mingle together with different people working towards the same goal, which beckons light of hope and friendship for all the later sessions that will come by in the future.
