Global Access Asia(GAA)

Global Access Asia (GAA) is the online courseware platform of the Asian University Presidents Forum (AUPF),

which has met annually since 2002 with the mission to “Increase Communication, Exchange Information,

Share Experience and Seek Common Development” of institutions of higher education in Asia.

The idea to create an AUPF online courseware platform arose in 2013 at the Forum’s 12th meeting.

A taskforce was established to investigate its feasibility and the findings were presented at

AUPF 2014 as part of an official proposal for the platform. The proposal was unanimously supported by

the Forum’s Standing Committee, which ratified GAA as an official affiliate of the AUPF.

Global Access Asia aims to increase international learning opportunities for students of AUPF member universities.

Using a collaborative online platform, each participating university may offer one or two of its topnotch courses online,

which students at other participating universities may take for free to earn academic credits.

Non-credit educational contents may also be uploaded by participating universities.

GAA is unique among courseware systems in its focus on the diversity and global role of Asia.

The platform for GAA is hosted by Dongseo University and Busan Digital University, both of which belong to the

Dongseo Educational Foundation. The AUPF Secretariat is at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies.
